Trailer for a book documenting the lives of Poles in the Eastern Borderlands. From the author, we received recordings with the book’s protagonists as well as photographs documenting the described places.
Challenge:
Our task was to create a trailer that would authentically capture the atmosphere of memories from the Tarnopol region. The material was meant not only to promote the book, but also to bring to life the memory of people and places that no longer exist. It was crucial to maintain historical credibility while simultaneously creating an engaging visual narrative.
Our solution:
We developed a unique method of working with archival materials, combining authentic photographs from the Borderlands with book fragments and interview recordings. Through delicate animation of archival photographs, we brought to life figures from the past, creating a bridge between the former and contemporary world. We used both original voice recordings and specially prepared narrator narration to create a cohesive story that encourages exploring the full history contained in the book.
