We created a trailer for Kamila Morza’s documentary book “Children from Kuřim,” published by Wydawnictwo Sploty. This shocking story presents the histories of children who fell victim to violence, manipulation and sectarian activities.
Challenge:
The goal was to create a trailer that would capture the gravity and depth of the subject matter while maintaining appropriate sensitivity toward the difficult experiences of the victims. The trailer was meant to generate interest in the book, but could not be too literal or drastic in presenting traumatic events.
Our solution:
From the received book fragments, we selected the one that best captured the atmosphere and essence of the entire story. We developed an original visual narrative based on abstract illustrations that subtly visualized the atmosphere and events of those places. We also prepared professional voice narration, which combined with thoughtful visual presentation creates a deep, emotional experience. This approach allowed us to convey the essence of the story in a way that respects the victims while engaging potential readers.
